It’s been nominated for World’s Leading Island Destination at the last 10 World Travel Awards, so it’s easy to see why this romantic slice of Italy has clocked up so many devotees over the years. Sicily is the largest of the Italian islands, separated from the Continent by the Strait of Messina and surrounded by the Ionian, the Tyrrhenian and the Mediterranean Seas.

Sicily offers unique and intense sceneries. From Greek temples to Roman villas, cave paintings to Phoenician towers, Baroque palaces to Art-Deco villas, Roman mosaics, not to mention churches, cathedrals, mosques, castles and fortified farmhouses. All are easily accessible and, as you do, you will have an opportunity also to discover the natural beauty of the island. The blue and gold of sand dunes and the Mediterranean sea, the black and white of snow against the volcanic rock of Etna, the green and gold of wheat fields and vines, the green of the ancient olive trees and of thorny cactus plants, the brown and dark red of the earth and parched fields – you will be amazed by beautiful Sicily!

Day One

On day one we will fly you from your chosen departure point to Catania airport, where you will be met by our staff and transferred to Catania harbour by coach for your departure to your chosen hotel in Taormina by luxury motor yacht! Your luggage will travel separately to the hotel. You will board the yacht and sail along the beautiful coastline. The route will follow the coastal route along beaches of Marina di Cottone, Fiumefreddo till the Bay of Giardini Naxos which closes with the Capo Taormina. This navigation will be run slowly to give you the opportunity to enjoy the landscape and take pictures! Once in front of the bay of Taormina, a nice informal lunch will be served on board. You will have time to relax and swim after lunch. You will then board smaller boats and we will take you to your hotel of choice.

Dating back to the beginning of the 20th century, it has been carefully renovated and offers luxurious and contemporary accommodation in the heart of Taormina’s historic centre, and just a short walk away from the beautiful Corso Umberto, Taormina’s exclusive promenade.

The position of the hotel, standing above the roofs of the town, means stunning panoramas over Taormina, the Greek Theatre and the Bay of Naxos can be enjoyed from the beautiful infinity pool, roof garden and many of the guest rooms. There is a spa, Finnish sauna, Turkish bath and an array of treatments designed to help you unwind.

In the evening, we will all meet in the lobby and take a casual walk to a traditional restaurant located in Taormina centre to enjoy traditional pizza cooking! We will start with welcome cocktails and an appetizer. You will be directly involved in preparing different kinds of pizza with the help of expert pizzaioli at your disposal, you will learn all the secrets of pizza making. After the pizza making activity, we will walk to a local venue where we have arranged a semi private area for you to party the night away. Overnight at the hotel.

Day Two

Breakfast in hotel. After breakfast we will meet in the lobby for today’s adventure which will see you discover Mt Etna Volcano by jeeps and bikes.

You will depart by 4×4 jeeps with a driver (1 jeep per 4 guests) to the Etna Volcano to discover the fascinating nature trails of the highest active volcano in Europe! Up to 2000 metres in about 1 hour to start an amazing trek on the lava fields! Your driver will drive off-road in a dry lava flow and you will take a short trek to enjoy the amazing view of the Oxen Valley. At the end of the activity, you will be picked up by jeeps and we will take you to a private winery on the Etna slopes where you will have a typical Sicilian lunch in the garden! You will be welcomed by the owner and will have an aperitif with a tasting of the wines they produce.

After lunch we will transfer back to the hotel. You will have some free time before we meet in the evening for dinner.

Tonight, you will have dinner in a traditional Osteria restaurant in Taormina centre. This is a restaurant/enoteca owned by Chef Turi (Salvatore) Siligato, who is an integral advocate of Italy’s ‘Slow Food Movement’. Here, you will taste dishes he has prepared with seasonal products in a very nice establishment with a beautiful summer terrace and an excellent wine list.

You will have free time after dinner to explore Taormina. Overnight in hotel.

Day Three

Meet in lobby for today’s activity – canyoning in the famous Alcantara River Park!

Following the path of an ancient Mt Etna lava flow, Sicily’s Alcantara River carved intricate ravines and underground passages through the volcanic rock. The resulting Alcantara Gorges are part of the Alcantara River Park, popular with tourists drawn to the beautiful rock formations and the refreshing river water, especially in summer. Once we reach Alcantara Park you will enjoy Trekking & Canyoning at the Alcantara Gorges. We will provide you with all the equipment you will need to enjoy this exciting activity.

Lunch all together will be arranged in a nice countryside restaurant. After lunch, transfer back to the hotel and enjoy some free time until we meet for your farewell dinner.

Meet in lobby for the short transfer to tonight’s dinner venue. We will prepare a spectacular farewell dinner in a villa with panoramic views close to the seaside. Against the backdrop of the beautiful beaches of Taormina lies Villa Antonio.

The main is decorated with furniture of the twentieth century. The panoramic terrace located in the upper courtyard has a beautiful view over the Gulf of Taormina.

ALTERNATIVE DINNER VENUES CAN BE ARRANGED! A Historical house or The Museum of Fine Art.

After dinner, we will transfer you back to the hotel. A drop off in Taormina centre for those that wish to party can be arranged! Overnight at hotel.

Day Four

Breakfast in hotel.

You have the morning at leisure before hotel check out and transfer back to Catania airport by luxury coach for your early afternoon departure.
