Meet the team
Debbie Muir
I have worked in the travel industry ever since I left school and I have ALWAYS had a passion for travel. I have worked for travel agencies on the leisure side selling package and luxury holidays, airlines and corporate travel management companies operating events from small exclusive board meetings, conferences to incentive programmes for 400+ sales staff. Starting Event Bookers with Kay in 2014 was a way of encompassing all the above working experiences together and creating an agency that is passionate about customer service, building relationships and wowing people with our creativity and ideas!
The parts of the job I enjoy most is meeting people. Getting to know you, the client and our suppliers. It is this part that is crucial as once we know you and your business inside out, we will deliver exceptional service every time. Likewise having the relationships with our suppliers means we can negotiate good prices and added extras. I also enjoy keeping up to speed with all new venue openings, so I know what is hot and what is not!
Outside of work I have two young children who keep me on my toes! When I am not with my children I like to go on mini-adventures either in the UK or overseas. Nothing beats putting my hiking boots on and getting out into the great outdoors!
Kay Islin
From a young age I knew I wanted to work within the travel industry. I loved our annual holidays and enjoyed every moment, especially the travelling. As soon as I left school, I secured a full-time job in my local travel agency which I was lucky enough to be able to travel on a regular basis for work. In my early twenty’s I made the transition from leisure travel to business travel working in the City of London. Within a couple of years, I moved to a high-profile banking account to look after the Roadshow, Events and VIP clients. I loved the personal customer service I could give my clients and formed some great relationships along the way.
Debbie and I formed Event Bookers in 2014 in order to give our personal customer service 24 hours a day, 7 days a week. I love working within a team and with our amazing suppliers and going the extra mile for our clients. Nothing is too much trouble and we thrive off unusual enquires and requests. In my spare time I love spending time with my family. We look forward to our family holidays together and love to travel to new destinations.
